Manufacturing Operative – Copper Cutter

Location: Loughborough
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary (Immediate Start – Until Early September)
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm | Friday: 7:00am – 1:30pm
Overtime: Available during the week and most Saturday mornings

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Manufacturing Operative to join a well-established business in Loughborough. If you enjoy hands-on work, have a good eye for detail and are confident using hand tools and machinery, this could be the perfect opportunity.

You will be working within the production department, you'll support the manufacture and assembly of LV switchgear and associated electrical equipment.

The Role

• Measuring copper bars accurately to within 1mm tolerance.

• Cutting and punching copper bars using a circular saw and other workshop equipment.

• Assembling low voltage (LV) switchgear.

• Using hand tools and assembly techniques to complete production tasks.

• Reading measurements and following production instructions accurately.

• Supporting the Shop Floor Manager with additional workshop tasks as required.

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

• Working flexibly to support the wider production team.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment (preferred but not essential).

• An interest in mechanical assembly and hands-on work.

• Confidence using a circular saw and other hand tools.

• Excellent measuring skills with the ability to cut materials accurately and precisely.

• A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

• A flexible attitude and willingness to support the team with a variety of tasks.

• A good understanding of workplace health and safety.

• Willingness to work overtime during the week and most Saturday mornings when required.

PPE Requirements

Candidates must provide their own safety boots/shoes. All other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be supplied.
